Johnson joined the VCU Women's Basketball staff in July 2018. Johnson, a former standout player at Duke University and Richmond native, is in her first season as video coordinator.
Johnson served as the graduate assistant at UNCG from 2016-18 where she clipped, brokedown, and analyzed film for the Spartans. Johnson also helped coordinate and assist with community outreach events with the team and assisted in training and developing players on the court.
Prior to UNCG, Johnson played professionally with stints at BLK Slavia Praha and Alte Kanti Aarau. With BLK Slavia Praha, Johnson was a four-time ZBL Player of the Week in the Czech Republic League. She let the ZBL in rebounds per game (10.5) and was fourth in points per game (19.4). With Alte Kanti Aarau in Switzerland, she served as team captain.
At Duke, Johnson was a member of the 2013 ACC Tournament Champion squad at Duke and helped her team reach the NCAA Elite Eight during her time with the Blue Devils. She started 32-of-34 games at point guard as a senior and recorded the seventh triple-double in Duke history against Old Dominion. That same season she finished ranked fifth in the ACC in assists per game and led the team with 126 assists. Johnson was named the Blue Devil’s team captain her senior season.
A Richmond native, Johnson graduated from Thomas Dale High School and was the 2011 Richmond Times-Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year and a three-time Central District Player of the Year. She was also named a four-time First Team All-District, First Team All-Metro, First Team All-Academic District and First Team All-Academic Region selection.
Johnson graduated from Duke in 2015 with a degree in Sociology and from UNCG with a master's in liberal studies in 2018.
