Ike Ukaegbu was introduced as the Associate AD for Compliance and Student Services on May 6, 2013. He joins the Rams after spending two years at Boise State.
“Ike is a tremendous addition to our VCU Athletics family and brings a wealth of knowledge to our staff,” McLaughlin said. “Integrity and rules compliance are part of the core values of our department and Ike’s experience and understanding in the area will be a vital asset to our future.”
Ukaegbu served as the Director of Compliance at Boise State since 2011. In that role he educated staff, coaches, student-athletes and boosters of the rules and regulations of the NCAA.

From 2010 to 2011 he was the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance for Cal State Fullerton. While with the Titans, Ukaegbu oversaw the day-to-day activities of the compliance office.
Prior to working at Cal State Fullerton Ukaegbu worked as the Director of Compliance at American University in Washington D.C. While with the Eagles he was responsible for monitoring recruiting activities, tracking eligibility, rules interpretations and collecting APR (Academic Progress Rate) data.
He is an active member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) Convention committee, as well as previously being a member of the NCAA Eligibility Center Division I External Advisory Group.
Ukaegbu graduated from Arizona University in 2007 with a degree in political science. He would go on to earn a Masters degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University. While in their Masters Program Ukaegbu served as a compliance intern for Florida Atlantic University.
Ukaegbu and his wife, Katie, reside in Chesterfield with their son, Devin.
