Peter Green, a fixture on the collegiate volleyball scene for the better part of a decade, joins the Rams as an assistant coach for the 2012 season.
Green most recently served as head coach at Chowan University, where he led the Hawks to a 99-42 mark from 2008-2011. Green directed Chowan to consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championships in 2009 and 2010, as well as a runner-up finish in 2011. Last season, he steered Chowan to a 26-8 mark, as well as a 16-0 record in CIAA regular season action.
Under his direction, the Hawks earned nine First Team All-CIAA awards, five second team honors and five All-Rookie citations. Chowan also boasted the CIAA Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2009 and 2011.
From 2003-08, Green worked as an assistant at nearby Randolph-Macon College, focusing on player development, scouting and recruiting efforts. In addition to helping turn the Yellow Jackets into a perennial league title contender, Green recruited a pair of conference Players of the Year.
Green also has extensive club and high school experience, including his work for Beach Elite and Coastal Volleyball.
