Cody Proveaux joined the Rams as assistant coach in the fall of 2018. His impact was nearly immediate, as he helped the Rams capture the 2019 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and reach the NCAA Regionals. Two VCU players, Ian Peng and Kristian Tannum Donaldson collected All-Atlantic 10 honors following his debut season.

A college standout at Clemson and former professional golfer, Proveaux has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments that includes four mini-tour victories.

From 2012-17, Proveaux helped lead one of the ACC’s top golf programs at Clemson. Along the way, he accumulated 11 top-10 collegiate finishes, including six in the top-five.

A South Carolina native, Proveaux earned his undergraduate degree in sociology, with a minor in athletic leadership, from Clemson in 2017. He was a two-time Dean’s List recipient.

In addition to his collegiate resume, Proveaux was named 2011 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Rolex Golfer of the Year, the same year he won the 2011 Junior PGA Championship at Sycamore Hills Country Club. Proveaux also won the 2010 Polo Golf Classic and was a three-time participant in the Wyndham Cup.

During his time at Pelion High School, Proveaux was a two-time recipient of Jay Haas award, given to the top junior golfer in South Carolina. Proveaux also sponsors a scholarship that benefits Pelion student-athletes.
