Brett Dunn
Undergraduate Assistant
Two-year member of the US Men’s National Team, Brett Dunn is entering his second season as an undergraduate assistant coach for the VCU Field Hockey program.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dunn has several years of international experience to bring to VCU’s program.
In South Africa, Dunn was picked for the Gauteng Provincial U-16C team. After moving to the states, Dunn was selected as the US Under-16 goalkeeper in 2003 and continued to play on the international scene for the next four years. In 2004, he was a member of the Indoor Pan American Cup runner-up team, and from 2005-2007, Dunn played for the USA National Squad.
As a member of the Mavericks club hockey team in Fairfax, Va., Dunn was named MVP of the 2003 JFK Tournament. He also helped the Dragons Field Hockey Club place fourth at the Mid-Atlantic USA Field Hockey National Championships in 2006 and was named the tournament’s Top Young Player.
Dunn began his coaching career assisting his alma mater, Fairfax High School, and has served as a coach for numerous camps, including the Champions Edge Field Hockey Camp and Bloomsburg University’s field hockey camp.
Dunn is currently a senior at VCU majoring in international business administration.
