RICHMOND, Va. – For four years, they've poured in hours and hours of work, both on and off the playing field. They've put their heart and soul into being a VCU Ram and as fans, we've loved watching every minute.

On Wednesday, those special student-athletes that are known as seniors were honored at the annual Student-Athlete Luncheon, held inside the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. This year, the Black & Gold honored 45 seniors for their dedication and hard work.

"This event is always a special one because it's the one time during the year that we can have all our student-athletes in the same place at the same time," Assoc. Athletic Director and Associate Dean for Student Services Sofia Hiort-Wright said. "It's really the least we can do to honor the seniors, who put so much time and effort into being exemplary student-athletes."

As a group, the seniors competed in nearly 1,300 games, matches, meets and tournaments. They've posted over 500 wins, earned 49 All-CAA accolades and broke 23 school records. In the group, there have been 13 First-Team All-CAA honorees, 21 NCAA Postseason appearances, nine CAA championships and one Final Four.

Special thanks to the Outback Steakhouse on Robious Rd. for providing the meal for the student-athletes, coaches and staff.
