VCU BASEBALL RELEASES 2010 SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Commonwealth University baseball program announced today its 2010 schedule.
The Rams will open the 2010 slate on the road with a three-game set at Charleston Southern Feb. 19-21 before returning home to The Diamond for nine of its next 10 games.
VCU entertains in-state foe Liberty on Feb. 23 to begin its home schedule followed by a four-game series against Fairfield (Feb. 26-28) and a three-game set against Cleveland State (March 5-7). The Rams’ host local rival Randolph Macon on March 9 and conclude their home stand against Quinnipiac on March 10.
The Black and Gold travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., for games against Bethune-Cookman and Wagner March 12-14 before returning to The Diamond for 12 of its next 14 contests. VCU welcomes former Rams’ assistant Chris Finwood and his Western Kentucky squad for a three-game series March 19-21 followed by a meeting against Longwood on March 24.
VCU battles Northeastern March 26-28 to begin Colonial Athletic Association play before traveling to College Park, Md., for a matchup against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Maryland on March 30. The Rams host William & Mary April 2-4 and face cross-town rival Richmond at The Diamond on April 6.
The Black and Gold then hit the road for 16 of its next 20 games, including meetings against Towson, Richmond, Hofstra, VMI, UNC Wilmington, 2009 College World Series participant Virginia, Norfolk State and George Mason.
VCU concludes the regular season with a three-game set against James Madison at The Diamond May 21-23. The CAA Tournament is scheduled for May 27-29 in Wilmington, N.C.
