2008/Freshman: Appeared in 10 games, receiving the start in seven of them... Went 2-3 with 7.44 ERA... In 32.2 innings of work, struck out 21 and walked just 11... In collegiate debut against nationally-ranked Texas, tossed four innings allowing only four hits and one run (2/24)... Posted three strikeouts in three-inning relief outing in home win over Richmond (4/15)... Hurled career-high seven innings, allowing only two earned runs at Hofstra (5/11).

Prior to VCU: Two-sport standout athlete at South County High School in Fairfax Station, Va.... Four-year letterwinner in baseball, three-year letterwinner in basketball... Helped lead the Stallions to back-to-back District Championships in baseball during his junior and senior seasons... Earned All-Conference honors in his sophomore season being named Honorable Mention for baseball and a scholar-athlete for basketball... Named captain of baseball and basketball teams during his junior and senior seasons... Earned Second-Team All-District during his final two seasons... Earned Preseason All-American honors from Baseball Factory entering his senior year.
