General: Along with classmate Carlos Rodriguez, longest tenured Ram on this year’s squad… Powerful stick from the left-hand side that is coming off a breakout 2008 campaign… Settled in nicely to the right field slot, registering a team-high six outfield assists last year… Will be looked upon to be the veteran leader.
2008/Junior: Played in 42 games for the Black and Gold, getting the starting nod in 37 of those contests… Breakout year included career-highs in batting average (.311), at-bats (135), runs scored (23), hits (42), doubles (12) and total bases (62)… Tallied nine different multi-hit games… Put together a career-high eight-game hitting streak between March 29th-April 15th, hitting .518 with 11 RBIs over that span… Went a perfect 2-for-2 with a run scored against Bucknell (3/01)… Delivered the eventual game-winning RBI in a 2-for-3 performance against Manhattan (3/16)… Torched Northeastern in a three-game set, combining to go 8-for-12 with seven runs scored and nine RBIs (4/11-4/12)… Launched a crucial solo homerun in a 9-8 victory over Towson (5/3)… Pounded out two doubles and scored two runs against Liberty (5/13).
2007/Sophomore: Saw action in 41 games for the Rams last season, getting the start in 31 of those contests... Played five different positions last year including third base, second base, left field, right field and DH... Finished the season with a .264 batting average in 121 at-bats... Launched two home runs, while compiling four doubles and four triples... Scored 21 runs, while driving in 22 RBIs... Went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs in road win at Towson (5/4)... Scored two runs in a 2-for-5 performance against Georgia State (4/13)... Drove in three RBIs in a 2-for-4 day against Wagner (3/23)... Blasted a three-run homerun in a 1-for-3 day against James Madison (3/18)... Launched a key solo home run in a 3-for-4 performance against Norfolk State (3/14).
2006/Freshman: Played third base, first base and outfield for the Rams...Appeared in 39 games with 21 starts...Had 19 hits and 16 runs in rookie campaign...Had two doubles, one triple, two homers and 11 RBI... Homered over the scoreboard in right at Delaware...Had three hits and three RBI in two starts vs. the Blue Hens...Had three hits and two runs in third game against Towson.
Prior to VCU: Earned 1st Team All-District, All-Region and All-State honors at third base his senior season at Grafton H.S.... Named 2005 Bay Rivers District, Region I Player of the Year by the Newport News Daily Press... Received 1st Team All-District and All-Region honors at second base his junior season... Earned All-Bay Rivers District honors at second base as a sophomore.
