How do I join the Ram Athletic Fund (RAF)?
Any size donation goes a long way, but to enjoy the benefits of
the Ram Athletic Fund, a gift of $100 or more must be donated. You
may join by visiting www.support.vcu.edu/give/athletics, or by
calling Vic Cegles at 804-828-FUND. All gifts to the Ram
Athletic Fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by
law.
Why should I give to the Ram Athletic Fund and how will my gift to
the Ram Athletic Fund be used?
With the cost of in and-out-of state tuition continuing to rise,
every gift to the RAF is important, as we strive to build our
programs, award aid to our student-athletes, and continue to win
championships. Donations are primarily used to provide
scholarship aid to our sixteen varsity sport programs. Gifts are
also utilized to support facility improvements and programmatic
needs of the VCU Athletic Department.
How do the Ram Athletic Fund Benefits for Men’s
Basketball work?
You receive benefits based on your annual donation the previous
year. Think of it as Frequent Flyer Miles. The amount
of miles flown the year before, determine what rewards you receive
for the following year. VCU’s fiscal year runs from
July 1st – June 30th. For
example, if you donated a total of $500 between July 1, 2011 and
June 30, 2012, then you will receive the benefits of a
Captain’s Society Member for the 2012-2013 Men’s
Basketball season. Please keep in mind that you only receive
benefits for men’s basketball if your donation is made to the
Ram Athletic Fund. Gifts made to specific sports do not
counts towards your men’s basketball benefits.
What is the purpose of scanning tickets?
The purpose is to keep better records of the patrons visiting the
Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. We
will now be able to track how many fans came through the gates, how
many donors visited the hospitality rooms on a particular night,
and it eliminates long Will Call lines. With the capability
of scanning tickets, those fans who are not season ticket holders
will now have the ability to purchase a ticket on-line and print
that ticket at home. No more waiting in Will Call lines or
receiving your tickets in the mail.
What if I’m a new donor and this is my first time
purchasing season tickets?
As a new donor and season ticket holder, an annual donation must
be paid in full before the start of the season. Another
donation must be paid before June 30th, of that year, in
order to maintain the same season tickets and benefits for the next
year. For example, you donated $500 before the beginning of
the 2012-2013 men’s basketball season in order to sit in the
$500 donor seating area and receive the benefits of a
Captain’s Society Member. If you wish to keep your
seats and receive the same benefits for the 2013-2014 men’s
basketball season, you must make another $500 gift before June 30,
2013.
Where do I park for Men’s Basketball games being played at
the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel
Center?
Any men’s basketball season ticket holder is eligible to
purchase a season long parking pass. Your giving level, the
priority point system and availability, determines where you may
park. All Director’s Society members and higher, will
receive one (1) complimentary parking pass. All Men’s
Basketball season ticket holders may purchase additional parking
passes, keeping in mind that all the parking passes may not be
located in the same area. The Broad St. parking deck is used
for day of game parking. There is a fee to park and it is on
a first come, first serve basis. If you have a season long
parking pass, you will not be turned away because of a full parking
deck or lot. *See Premium Parking
What are some details of the new and improved Commonwealth
Room?
The Commonwealth Room occupies the Auxiliary Gym, which is located
at the east end of the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C.
Siegel Center. Overall, we plan on providing a very
family-friendly atmosphere filled with pre-game events, kids’
activities, food vendors, and a cash bar. Think of the
Commonwealth Room as a pre-game and halftime tailgating spot.
I donate $5,000 and I have eight (8) season tickets.
However, I see I only receive two (2) Founder’s Club
passes. How do I receive more passes?
Donors who are eligible for the Founder’s Club may purchase
additional passes on a yearly or per game basis. In this
case, the individual may only purchase six (6) additional passes
because they only have eight (8) season tickets. You may
purchase additional Founder’s Club passes by calling Vic
Cegles at (804)828-FUND. Please request additional single
game passes at least 48 hours in advance.
My major concern is not benefits, but where my season tickets are
located. How can I be guaranteed my same season ticket
seats?
Priority seating at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C.
Siegel Center is based on your annual donation, the priority point
system and availability. Each section and row requires a
specific donation to purchase season tickets there. You must
renew your season tickets and RAF pledge by the designated
deadlines and you will maintain your seats for the following
season. *See Premium Seating
